Want to join me in an experiment?
I hear from a lot of people that they’d love to learn Dynamo but simply don’t have the time.
Either they’re too busy to learn it on their own.
Or their need to be billable overrides their desire to learn.
Or they’re already working 50+ hours a week and just want to get home in time for dinner with their family.
Sound familiar?
Yes, Dynamo is really powerful and yes, it can help you save a LOT of time in Revit.
But it takes time to learn how to use it.
And time is in short supply when you’re working on a bunch of projects.
So with that in mind, I want to try something new.
Something that will help you learn Dynamo WHILE getting your work done.
Here’s what I’m proposing. . .
- Click the link below to sign up for Dynamo for Busy People (it’s free). .
- I’ll email you a new time-saving Dynamo script every day for the next five days.
- I’ll include the Dynamo file as well as an annotated screenshot where I describe exactly how the script works.
- I’ll also include some suggestions on how you could modify the script.
- You take five minutes to try out the script and read through my notes. Maybe another ten minutes if you want to try my suggested variations.
- At the end of the week, you’ll have five Dynamo scrips and the knowledge of how they were created.
Sound good?
Like I said before, this is an experiment. I’m interested to see if this is an effective way to learn Dynamo.
If it proves useful, I might offer an extended, 25 – 30 day version of the course for a small fee.
At this stage, I’m just looking for your feedback.
So what do you say? Want to join me? If so, click the button below to enroll.
This is a great Ideal Michael. My only comment would be that starting this on the same week as Autodesk university might not be great timing. could you start the week after?
Good point Joe! I will check with everyone enrolled and give them the option to postpone for a week. That’s easy enough to set up on my end.
Hi Michael,
I am following your extended course for Dynamo for busy people. I’d like to confirm your intended use for the first script you sent out, sheets from Excel.
It runs perfectly on first pass, if I run it for, say, sheet numbers 1 to 5. However, if I update the Excel file to sheets 6 to 10, it overwrites the previous sheets 1 to 5 already created.
My intended use for this script would be creating sets of sheets as tender packages. Say I need door schedules, I populate an Excel list and feed this to Revit through Dynamo, however, should I use this same script for window schedules, it overwrites all the door schedules made this way previously.
Are there additional nodes required to test if the Revit Element ID exists for the sheet, forcing it to make a new sheet? I had initially thought the Sheet Number would be a unique identifier but it is a bit troublesome that Dynamo can rewrite a Sheet Number without any warnings.
I signed up but never received anything.
Eric,
Sorry about that. I checked my email service and it says the confirmation email it sent bounced back. Do you have an alternate email address I could enter? If so, email it to me here.
Michael
A colleague of mine signed up and started receiving the next day. I sent you an alternate via the link you provided.
i want these free Dynamo script everyday for five days.Eail:amelchenkovaalek@gmail.com
